How to ask a yes or no tarot question

  1. Make it a yes-or-no question. “Should I message them first this week?” works better than “What do they feel?”
  2. Ask one thing at a time. Mixing two questions blurs the answer.
  3. Don’t keep redrawing. Your first card is usually the most honest reflection of how you feel.

How do the cards answer?

Each of the 78 cards leans toward yes, no or maybe. Bright, open cards like The Sun, The Star or the Ace of Cups tend to mean yes; cards about endings or stopping, like The Tower or the Ten of Swords, lean no; hazy cards like The Moon or the Two of Swords lean toward maybe, or not yet. A reversed card can suggest the same answer, but delayed or with conditions attached.

Do I have to follow the answer?

No. The answer is a mirror, not a verdict. Notice whether you felt relief or disappointment when you saw it — that feeling tells you what you really want.
